[Class 38(v)] [Also in Group XXXIX] In a telephonic type relay or selector such as the bridge unit of a cross-bar switch having a series of contact spring pile-ups operated by an armature, the contact springs are exactly positioned by mounting them side by side on supporting bars F which are mounted in slots C in a series of distance plates B mounted one behind the other on a frame A. The ends of the contact springs are adapted to engage fixed contact bars M inserted in slots D in the plates B. The slots C may be inclined so that a definite tension is imparted to the springs when they bear against the contact bars M.
