[Classes 16 and 146 (i)] A device for suspending drawings, maps and the like, in which suspending means rest on guide rails of a cabinet or the like and comprise clamping rails spring-urged against each other, comprises clamping rails having an angular profile, buckled or bent out in the horizontal direction from the vertical plane so as to form an open elbow with respect to the hanging plane. The clamping rails 1, 2 are bent to form an angle as at 1c, preferably a right angle, and outwardy cranked carrying ledges 1a, 2a and 1b, 2b top and bottom. According to one embodiment, to the ends of the ledges 1a and lb are secured supporting arms 5, 5a connected by a cross-web 5b and having a hook 7 by which the device slides on rails 6. Drawings or papers 10 are clamped between the rails 1, 2 by means of a pressure plate 3 at each end, each plate 3 being journalled by pivots 4 in recesses in the arms 5, 5a and having projections 3<SP>1</SP> which bear against the ledges 2a, 2b under the pressure of springs 8 holding the flat pivots 4 against the recesses in the arms 5, 5a. A number of embodiments are described in which one or both the rails 1, 2 may be sprung outwardly at the ends so as to increase the clamping pressure or, as in Fig. 7, one of the rails 2 is bent in the middle, or a double bend to the rail is described. A further means of clamping the rails, Fig. 7, comprises a clamp 17, secured by lugs 18 to the ledges 2a, 2b, cranked at 19, 20 and provided with a recess 21 through which a tongue 22, on a yoke 27 secured to the ledges 1a, lb, passes to be locked by a hook 23 on a spring 24. The shank 25 of the spring 24 is held in a recess in the clamp 17 and has mounted on it a roll 26 for moving on the guide rails 6. Tabs. The upper ledges 1a, 2a may be provided, Fig. 11, with prolongations 11, 2c, the prolongation 11 carrying a double walled part 13, extending from a bent up step 16, which has an opening 14 through which a marked strip may be visible.
