Abstract

655,218. Vegetable peeler &c. PRZYBYLSKI, K. Sept. 5, 1949, No. 23367/48. [Class 28(ii)] A vegetable scraper and cleaner comprises a number of rotatable scrapers 23, 24 inside a trough 15 having a superposed receiving chamber 10, the scrapers forming a movable bottom for the chamber 10, and one or more of the scrapers is mounted to rotate about an eccentric axis e.g. 33. The scrapers are mounted on separate shafts 32 driven by a hand or power rotated gear 41. The scrapers comprise rotatable cylinders 25 or cones, or of other desired shape. Each scraper can be withdrawn for cleaning by pushing it axially against its spring pressed spindle 34 so that its square hole 31 at the other end can be removed from its drive. The casing 10 is shaped with ledges 22 to prevent vegetables falling down to the bottom. The potatoes are fed in at the top when the hinged lid 17 is opened. The whole device is pivoted at 9 to a clamping bracket 20. Water can be supplied through a hose connection 43 and drained away along with the scrapings through a drain 16. The scraping surfaces may be of perforated metal.
