[Class 39(iii)] An electric heating unit 12, adapted to be operated in any one of a number of positions within an oven 11, comprises an upper heat shield 14 and a lower baffle 15, which are detachably secured together, and a heating element 13, such as a sheathed resistor unit, which is affixed to the underside of said shield by brackets 22 and terminates in a connector 16. As shown. the baffle 15 has upwardly-extending flanges on each of its edges, the side flanges terminating in channel-shaped portions 28, 29 to cooperate with opposed slide rails 31, 32 on the side walls of the oven, and terminal blocks 17, into one of which the connector 16 is plugged, are fitted in the rear wall of the oven, one adjacent the floor 18 thereof and the other in the plane of the rails 31, 32. The shield 14 and baffle 15 are secured together, at the back, by a bracket 33 which depends from the shield, mounts the connector 16 and is formed at its lower end with a pair of hooked projections to engage aligned slots in the baffle, and, at the front by a resilient bent-rod bracket 46 which is riveted to the underside of the shield and is formed with a central yoke-shaped. portion 50 adapted' forcibly to contact the sloping forward side of a boss 52 on the baffle 15 and to be engaged by a locking turn-button 53 on the latter. The shield 14 has a centrally located aperture 21 to ensure proper circulation of air in the oven.
