Abstract

653,743. Draughting-machines. CELLOPHANE SOC. ANON. Dec. 31, 1947, No. 35164. Convention date, May 17, 1943. [Class 97 (iii)] The weight of the articulated parallelograms of a draughting- machine, in particular of the central linkage plate C, is supported by a cantilever arm M, so as to prevent deformation of the linkage by gravity when the machine is in positions where the plate C is not supported by the drawing table. The arm M lies substantially in the plane of the linkages and has at one end a forked crank O engaging a pin N at the centre of the plate C and at the other end is attached to a ring H pivotally mounted by means of diametricallyopposite pivot pins J on a sleeve G which is free to turn about a pin F on the base-plate A. The ring H is provided with an axial extension K supporting a bolt L bearing against the sleeve G so that by rotation of the bolt the ring H is turned about the axis of the pins J, thereby raising M and the centre-plate C. The draughting head may be of the kind described in Specification 653,742.
