Abstract

In a process for mixing and/or milling and uniformly distributing a comparatively small quantity of a substance throughout a finely divided material, the finely divided material, as described, a metal powder, is placed in a container, the substance which it is desired to distribute, as described a wax lubricant for the metal powder, is dissolved in a solvent and added thereto, and the container is subjected to a vibratory movement so that mixing and/or milling take place, the solvent being removed by heating and/or the application of a negative pressure before the termination of such vibratory and/or milling. In an example in which a process for mixing and milling is described, balls are used in the container. The invention is stated to be specifically suited to the mixing and/or milling and lubricating of cemented carbide powder mixtures for subsequent processing into the final sintered state.
