Abstract

653,362. Sealing. GERRARD INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Aug. 18, 1948, No. 21839. [Class 146 (ii)] Ties for packages are secured by a channel-shaped seal formed with inward projections on its flanges to give resiliently and engage under one or both of the overlapping lengths of the tie as it is pressed into position i.e. the seal snaps into position. Preferably the flanges 4 of the seal flare out slightly from the top and have an embossed rib or one or more rows of spaced indentations 3 which may be inclined to the top. The lower set of indentations may be slightly more prominent than the upper. Specification 531,539 is referred to.
