Abstract
653,194. Elbow pads. ELLIS, J. C. July 10, 1948, No. 18594. '[Class 81(ii)] An elbow pad comprises a substantially rigid cup-shaped frame b having a lining of padding material and attaching means j for securing it to the person. The frame member is preferably of metal or synthetic resin and the lining of sponge rubber. An external covering i of rubber may extend over the flatened base of the cap or over the whole of the outer surface. Alternatively the base part of the frame member may be corrugated. To provide the maximum support while enabling the knee or elbow to be straightened, the side walls are made! with two diametrically opposite low sections, coming above and below the joint, a high section on the outside of the joint and a section of intermediate height on the inside of the joint.
