Abstract

652,311. Pneumatic end-catchers for textile spinning &c. machines. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON. April 12, 1948, No. 10105. Convention date, May 22, 1947. [Classes 120(ii) and 120(iii)] A pneumatic end-catching device'for use in conjunction with a roller of a textile machine is arranged so that a wall of the pick-up nozzle is constituted by the roller. Suction may be applied to the nozzle, a jet of air may blow the broken end into the nozzle, or both suction and air jet may be used. When applied to. a spinning machine, the lower roller 1 of the last pair of drawing rollers forms the upper wall of a pick-up nozzle 8 connected to a suction pipe 16. A gap 13 is provided between edges 12 of the nozzle 8 and the roller 1 through which a stream of air will be sucked into the nozzle. This stream of air ensures that fibres tending to adhere to roller 1 will be sucked; away. A blower orifice 17 is directed: towards the mouth of nozzle 8. Specification 627,075 is referred to.
