650,257. Gas turbine plant. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. Dec. 14, 1948, No. 32308. Convention date, Jan. 19. [Class 110(iii)] In a gas turbine plant for the jet-propulsion of aircraft, the nozzle and stator blades 25, 26 are carried by an inner casing wall 41 and cooling air is passed through the cavity 47 between the inner and outer casing walls 41, 40. The cavity is open at the downstream end so that the jet stream will induce a flow of atmospheric air which enters through perforations 45 in the outer wall 40. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 a modification is described in which the cavity 47 is closed at its down stream end and the partition 43 is omitted. Pressure air then passes from the space 12 and enters the turbine stream through perforations in the inner wall 41. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
