649,006. Rectifying. STANFORD, W. E. April 19, 1948, Nos. 10806/48 and 3463/49. [Class 38 (ii)] [Also in Group XL (b)] In a television receiver the saw-tooth currents for the line and frame scanning coils are derived from the incoming synchronizing pulses without the use of normal oscillators and the E.H.T. for the anode of the tube is developed during the fly-back period in an extra secondary winding on one of the scan transformers, e.g. 31, and a rectifier 33 so that should the synchronizing pulses fail there is no risk of the screen of the cathode-ray tube being burnt.
