Abstract
Dibenzyl-5-aminotetrazole of the formula <FORM:0648631/IV (b)/1> and the analogous dibenzyl-3-amino-1,2,4-triazole are prepared by reacting an excess of benzyl chloride with 5-aminotetrazole or 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole.ALSO:The resistance to acid fading of colourations on textile materials of organic derivatives of cellulose is increased by incorporating in the materials, during or after dyeing, a water-insoluble N-benzylated 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole or a water-insoluble N-benzylated 5-amino-tetrazole derivative. The benzyl radical may be substituted by chlorine, alkyl, hydroxyl, alkoxyl, nitro or dialkylamino groups. The dibenzyl derivative <FORM:0648631/IV (c)/1> prepared by the reaction of an excess of benzyl chloride with 5-aminotetrazole and the analogous dibenzyl-3-amino-1,2,4-triazole may be used. They may be applied as a dispersion in water. In an example, cellulose acetate is dyed in a bath made by pouring into water in the presence of N,N-oleylmethyltaurine sodium salt a solution of dibenzyl-5-aminotetrazole and 1 - (21 - hydroxyethylamino) - 4 - (monomethylamino)-anthraquinone in a mixture of alcohol and acetone. In a second example, previously dyed cellulose acetate is treated with an aqueous dispersion of dibenzyl - 5 - aminotetrazole.
