Abstract

648,615. Glass. SKLARNY INWALD, NARODNI PODNIK. March 15, 1948, No. 7770. Convention date, March 15, 1947. [Class 56] A hollow stratified glass object is formed by blowing a glass member, pressing out a complementary glass member independently, positioning the blown member within the pressed member and uniting them by heat and by continued blowing until the final shape is attained. The blown member is formed on a blowpipe within a three-part mould 8 comprising two pivoted portions and a removable bottom 9. The bottom is removed, leaving a portion of the blown member projecting, and a second mould 14 containing the pressed member is brought thereunder and raised and the blown member is deposited in the pressed member. The supply of gas to the burners is automatically controlled by the movement of the table carrying the mould 14 and mould bottom 9 and the article is finished by continued blowing.
