[Class 83 (ii)] [Also in Groups XVII and XXXII] Cushioning means provided in a box or case for supporting and protecting the contents, comprises a metal holder.18, secured to the inside of the box, and a buffer or pad 20 of yieldable material, such as rubber felt, carried by the holder. The holder 18 is formed from a blank of material which may constitute a number of holders and which is provided with a number of slots 58 extending across the width of the blank to within marginal portions 32, 34 of the edges. Depending on the length of holder required the marginal portions 32, 34 are cut to the ends of a slot 58 at the appropriate position so that an individual holder can be completed. The marginal portions 32, 34 of the holder are bent upwardly as well as are extending portions ,43, 47, 48 formed by the slot 58 and serve to grip the pad or buffer 20 which may in addition be cemented to the base of the holder. Lugs 60 are pressed outwardly from the base of the holder and serve as means for attaching the holder to the wall of the box.
