645,634. Threshing-machines. SCOTT, A. June 16, 1948, No. 16185. [Class 58] Cavings and chaff from a threshing machine are collected by a transverse hopper 10 secured to the front of the machine adjacent the end of the cavings riddle 18 and discharged by a suction fan 17 through a duct 16 formed by an inclined deflector plate 15 parallel to one inclined side wall 12 of the hopper and extending across the width of the hopper and almost to the base 13. A wind deflecting plate may be provided across the inside of the front wall of the hopper to prevent the blast of the usual cavings blower from carrying the chaff out of the upper end of the hopper.
