[Class 125(ii)] Lifting means for rotary type bottle fillers comprise a number of standards each with a section secured to a base frame and a second or bottle supporting plate section slidably mounted on it, resilient means being interposed between them and compressed between abutments both associated with the slidable section so that this section with resilient means and abutments is removable as a unit. Bottle supports of a filling and capping machine having a filler bowl 3 mounted on a spindle 2, comprise telescoped sections 10, 11 of rectangular tubing, the lower inner section 10 being welded to the rim 8 of a spider-like base having guard rings 21, and the upper 11 supporting aplatform 12. Compression spring guide rods 13 fixed to plate 12 depend into section 10, the springs being retained under slight compression by a plate 15 resting on side members 18 at maximum expansion as limited by engagement of the underside of plate 15 by a spring clip 16 fitted on the end of rods 13. The outer section 11 carries a cam roller 19 adapted to be depressed by a cam track 20, thereby suitably depressing the bottle support at receiving and discharging positions.
