[Class 17(iii)] A concavo-convex plate 10 of resilient material embedded in a rubber heel 6 has a longitudinal slot which is engaged behind a headed portion 3 of a strip 2 attached to the heel portion of a shoe. The arrangement is such that in the fastened position there is a space 9 behind the rear face of the heel at the centre to permit the plate 10 to have a limited movement under treading pressure.
