Abstract

Nucleic acid is obtained from defatted and dehydrated soft fish roe by dissolving the roe in an excess of a concentrated solution of soda lye, and precipitating nucleic acid with an excess of alcohol acidified with hydrochloric acid. The roe may be defatted and dehydrated in accordance with the process described in Specification 641,816.
