642,175. Automatic circuit - breakers. BERTHIER, E. A. Dec. 24, 1947, No. 34243. Convention date, Nov. 7. Addition to 635,516. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Dec. 24, 1947] [Class 38(v)] [Also in Group XIII] The circuit-breaker of the parent Specification is modified to provide (1) for manual release even if the resetting button is held depressed; and (2) a bi-metal strip which is capable of controlling currents of the order of one amp. The release button 28a carries a ramp 63 which, when depressed, bears on the left-hand end of a lever 65 pivoted at 62 so that the right-hand end 66 of the lever moves in to push the latch blade 13 into its housing in push-rod 19. The bi-metal strip is made originally from a U of about three times the length of that of the parent Specification, but is twisted in the form of a helix 72, the free end of which acts by twisting of the helix.
