640,876. On and off castors. EVANS & CO., Ltd., J. N., and EVANS, J. K. N. Sept. 23, 1948, No. 24858. [Class 52 (i)] In a screw-operated " on and off " castor for a bedstead the wheeled leg 2 is raised and lowered by handle 9 on horizontal shaft 7 driving the screw 14 through bevel gears 10, 8 mounted in a casing 5 and provided with a thrust race 13. A plurality of wheeled legs may be provided coupled to a central leg which carries the screw mechanism.
