639,547. Electric lamp fitting. PIEPER, A. F. Feb. 3, 1947, No. 3224. [Classes 75 (iii) and 75 (iv)] In an electric lighting fitting of the type comprising a plurality of circular lamps arranged in intersecting planes each lamp 5, 7 is in the form of a complete circle and has only one connecting plug 6, 8 and the plugs 6, 8 for the lamps engage with upwardly inclined sockets 11, 12 arranged on opposite sides of a vertical post 1, the sockets and post lying in a single plane perpendicular to the planes of the lamps. Supporting means for the lamps and the lamp sockets 11, 12 are provided by upwardly inclined hollow arms 9, 10 and two downwardly inclined rods 13, the arms and rods radiating from a hollow body 2 at the top of the post 1. The lower ends of the rods 13 have fingers 14, 15 which engage the peripheries of the lamps, the fingers 15 being attached to sleeves 16 slidable on the rods and pressed by springs 17 into contact with the lamps ; the sleeves are fixed in adjusted position by set screws 18. The lamps 5, 7 are of different diameter and are arranged one within the other and at right-angles. A lamp shade may be supported by a rod 3 forming an extension of the post 1.
