Abstract
639,389. Rolling; curving. GROTEFELD, H. W. G., and SMALL, C. J. P. Nov. 2, 1948, No. 28417. [Class 83 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXVI] An insulated ribbon conductor is produced by rolling an insulated round wire into an insulated ribbon and at the same time bending the ribbon to give it a curvature in the planes of the wider faces of the ribbon. The round wire 10 is passed between rollers 11, 12, and emerges as a ribbon 13. The ribbon is pulled downwardly to give it a natural curve and then wound edgewise on spool 14, where it assumes its natural helical shape resulting from the rolling and bending under tension.
