639,331. Electrically heated stamping plates. SEMPERIT GUMMIWERKE AKT.-GES. June 25, 1947, No. 16771. Convention date, May 18, 1942. [Class 39 (iii)] [Also in Group XVI, An electrically heated stamping plate 3 for stamping presses and suitable for the production of elastic printing formes and dies comprises electric heating elements containing insulated heating conductors and embodied by casting in aluminium or an alloy thereof. The heating elements are steel tubes 1 of about 9 mm. diameter, in which the coils are embedded in a layer of magnesium oxide, and are united by cross-bars 2 to constitute a grate. The distance apart of adjacent tubes, and the wall thickness of the plate above and below the tubes, do not exceed the diameter of the tubes, which are positioned in the centre plane of the plate. The two end tubes yield a higher thermic output.
