639,304. Applying medicaments. BRITISH DRUG HOUSES, Ltd. March 22, 1948, No. 8455. [Class 81 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] An applicator for introducing ointment or paste into body cavities comprises a plunger 12 formed with a stem portion 11 and an enlarged portion 13 constituting a piston, sliding in a tube 15 having a stepped bore, the lengths 16, 17 being of such diameter as to accommodate the rod 11 and piston 13 respectively. The plunger has an operating knob 14 screwed on its outer end and is of such length that, when in its fully entered position, the piston 13 is substantially flush with the end of the tube. The tube has its edges 18, 19 preferably rounded and it may be formed with an enlargement 22 to provide a better finger hold.
