638,927. Inhalers. ROBINSON, J. Aug. 8, 1947, No. 22034. Convention date, March 27, 1939. [Class 81 (ii)] An electrically - heated vaporizer for medical inhalations comprises a double-walled cup-shaped receptacle associated in a liquid-tight manner with a housing enclosing a heater element, so that none of the contents of the cup can reach the heater, and having ducts for directing the air past the receptacle. In one embodiment the cup 38 is formed in one piece with a tubular shell 39, the lower 'edge of which is spun over a base member 122 so as to enclose the heater element 127 and hold it firmly against the base of the cup. The tubular handle A is a tight fit over a downward extension 125 of the base. A nose piece B, having air channels 79 around the cup, is a push fit over the assembly. In a modification, instead of using a ceramic former for the heater spiral an insulated heater coil is used which is held against the bottom of the cup by a resilient backing.
