Abstract
637,866. Utilizing atomic energy. JAPOLSKY, N. S. March 6, 1947, No. 6338. [Class 39 (i)] Streams of atomic nuclei are produced in containers 1, 2 by means of rotating magnetic fields established by currents in high-frequency polyphase windings 10, 11. These streams of nuclei pass through tubes 3 and intersect at right angles in a cylinder 4, effecting disintegration of some of the particles. One stream has a velocity producing a de Broglie wave packet (a resultant wave system produced by the motion of protons or magneto-protons). This packet interacts with the particles of the other stream to separate negatively-charged and positively-charged particles. By reason of their mass, the latter collect on a cylinder 5, while the negatively-charged particles collect on positively-charged radially-disposed strips 7. An alternating magnetic or electric field diverts the particles to vary the rate of collection at 5, 7 and thus produce a pulsating voltage at 6, 9.
