[Class 135] [Also in Group XXVI] The ioint between the plug and the body of a valve is effected by a packing ring 17 formed with concentric ridges 23, 24, and held in position by a ring 12. The ridge 24 is deeper than the ridge 23 and the greater compression thereof prevents rotation of the ring when the valve is operated. The cross-section of the ring may be in part of square or rectangular form.
