635,705. Subaqueous signalling-apparatus. ROUND, H. J., and BUCKINGHAM, J. Feb. 1, 1947, No. 3119. [Class 118 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXIX] A magnetostrictive oscillator as described in Specification 635,704, comprises a laminated nickel rod 1 surrounded by an exciting winding 2 and carrying a radiating head 3, a permanent magnet 4 with pole-pieces 4a, and a laminated bridge-member 5. Unwanted radiation from the rear surfaces of the head and rod is reduced by a ring 8 and plug 9 of cellular rubber or like material.
