Abstract

In an improvement of the splint described in Specification 542,946, in which two stiff flat strips are secured in a fabric cover adjacent to opposite edges thereof and have projecting lugs by means of which their outer edges may be laced together, the strips are retained in pockets in the cover sufficiently wide for the strips to be moved laterally, relative to the cover, so that the lugs may be withdrawn through the holes in the cover and for the strips to be then drawn longitudinally out of the cover. This enables the cover to be cleaned. After the strips have been inserted they may be held by a short length of temporary stitching. Padding may be secured to the strips before they are inserted in the cover.
