Abstract
537,757. Parachute harness. IRVING AIR CHUTE OF GREAT BRITAIN, Ltd. (Lundholm, C. H.). March 13, 1940, No. 4729. [Class 141] In parachute harness of the kind described in Specification 519;075 wherein the leg straps are looped to slide over thigh straps connected to a central release device to which one or more body encircling straps are connected, the thigh straps are stiffened to facilitate their smooth passage through the loops of the leg straps. The stiffening may be by the application of gum or other suitable impregnating liquid or by one or more strips of leather, synthetic resin or metal. Metal strips may be inserted between fabric plies, the edges of the strips being bent outwardly or formed into a loop as at 4 to protect the edges of the fabric.
