Abstract
635,189. Two-part couplings. CLIFTON AIRCRAFT, Ltd., and LANGSTONE, W. H. April 24, 1948, No. 11309. [Class 38 (i)] A socket comprises a single block of insulating material 1 having aligned holes in which socket contacts are secured so as to be removable from the rear of the block. Each contact comprises a C-shaped tube, slotted longitudinally and provided with an integral, flat, rearward extension 6a engaged by a screw 10 passing through a lateral opening 11 in the hole in which the socket is located. Leads 8 are also connected to the extensions 6a by screws 7. Each opening is of keyhole shape, its narrower portion 11a extending to the rear of the block so that the screw 10 need not be removed completely for the contact to be withdrawn, nor need the electrical connection be disturbed. The socket may be used in an oven as described in Specification 635,190, [Group XI]. According to the Provisional Specification split pins may be substituted for the screws 10.
