Abstract

635,168. Extracting juice from fruit. BAKARIAN, P. W. Oct. 31, 1947, No. 29138. [Class 28(ii)] Juice is extracted from lemons &c. by a fluted dome 14 which is removably mounted on the upper end 13 of a vertical shaft 10 extending through an upstanding tubular part 8 of a juice collecting vessel 1 and is rotated by a crank handle 20 through bevel gears 11, 21 on the shaft 10 and the shaft 19 of the handle 20 respectively. The vessel 1 has a pouring lip 2 on one side and a supporting bracket 3 on the other, the bracket 3 having lateral wings 4, Fig. 2, forming a vertical plate element which is slightly tapered in elevation for slidable engagement with a slotted wall, &c., fixture 5, Fig. 4, and the shaft 19 is mounted in a circular bowlshaped member 17<SP>1</SP> provided with a flange 22 which is adapted to be seated in a recess 16<SP>1</SP> in the bottom of the vessel 1 and to be secured therein in one of several alternative angular positions by bolts or screws 23. A circular tray 16 having a flat strainer bottom 17 is seated within the rim of the vessel 1.
