Abstract

632,446. Boot and shoe trees. ELSTON, E. P. Oct. 3, 1947, No. 26623. [Class 17 (iii)] A tree for insertion in the toe of a boot or shoe is made of resilient wire or sheet metal and has two base portions 4, 5 shaped to engage the interior of the shoe between the upper and the insole, and joined at the back by a handle portion 10. The parts 6, 8 ; 7, 9 contact the interior of the toe. When inserted in a shoe, the parts tend to spring outwards independently owing to their individual resiliency to stretch the toe both heightwise and laterally. A buttonshaped member 11, Fig. 3, screwing into a channel member 13 can be fixed to any part to give local stretching.
