Abstract

789,807. Detachable soles. PLOWMAN, W. July 21, 1955 [Aug. 23, 1954], No. 24468/54. Class 17(2) A detachable rubber or like sole 13 has a piece 11 forming a channel 14 which grips the shoe welt 15. The sole is slightly undersize and the channel 14 has less width than the thickness of the welt 15 so that the sole is in tension when in position. Its top surface which contacts the shoe is covex to increase the watertightness. An extension 12 under the instep has a hole 18 which is drawn over a screw 19 projecting from the shoe sole.
