[Class 78 (ii)] A supporting device for an electric conductor for an electric iron comprises a rigid base 10 adapted to be securely clamped to the edge of a table ; an upstanding resilient tube 15 secured at its lower end to the base and communicating thereat with the inner end of a lateral passage 12 provided in said base for admitting the conductor ; a rigid elongated tube 16 arranged coaxially with and secured at its lower end to the upper end of the said resilient tube and through which the conductor may extend upwardly from the base and a resilient tubular outlet 17 mounted on the upper end of the rigid tube to prevent undue bending of the conductor as it passes to the electric iron. The support is formed of a tube 16, the upper end of which is secured to spring 17 having collar 18 attached and the lower end of which is carried by spring 15 which fits tightly over projection 10<SP>1</SP> of clamp 10. The electric cable passes through a conduit 12 in the clamp 10, through projection 101 and through the tube and springs and is attached at its end to the electric iron. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, Figs. 3 and 4 (Cancelled) states that the clamp may be replaced by a bracket 10 fitted with studs 21 which lodge in keyholes 22 in bracket 23 fixed on the wall, and the metal of the keyholes may increase in the downwards direction so that the studs wedge into position. Also the support may comprise one part only in the form of a lengthened spring 15 with or without additional spring 17. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
