Abstract
631,737. Surface condensers. VERO, E., and CLEGG, C. Sept. 26, 1946, No. 28762. [Class 64(iii)] A condenser having a jacket 1 through which gas or vapour can be passed is provided with helically-coiled coaxiallyarranged tubes 5, 6, 7 connected in parallel to an inlet tube 8 and an outlet tube 9 for passage of a coolant. The helical tubes are fused at one end to the inlet tube 8 and at the other end to a short tube 10 fused to a tube 11 extending to the outlet tube 9. The tubes and jacket may be of glass. The inlet 2 to the jacket 1 may be shaped and ground for insertion in the neck of a flask.
