[Class 60] In the blasting of an internal surface such as the bore of a cylindrical tube d, a stream of sand (for cleaning and roughening) or chilled-iron or hardened steel shot (for cleaning or peening to increase the fatigue life) is impelled, by an air blast, through an axially disposed nozzle b and the particles are deflected on to the surface by a counter-blast of air from a coaxially disposed secondary nozzle c.
