Abstract

Concrete poles are cast in the field in sand moulds lined with corrugated paper or waxed paper and made by means of a former to which the paper is applied before the side walls of the mould are formed. Concrete blocks space the pole reinforcement and hold the paper in place. The sand may contain some cement or other binding material. The moulds may be made in rows so that sand can be rammed between the formers. Transverse holes may be formed by cores.
