Abstract
630,159. Gullies. LANARKSHIRE WELDING CO., Ltd., and McDONALD, R. A. 'Feb. 21, 1947, No. 5217. [Class 33] A drainage gully comprises a onepiece welded body 5, 7, 9, the upper part 10 of the wall 7 of which is inclined inwardly above an overflow chamber 12, 12A extending into the gully, and a steeply inclined deflector plate 18 removably mounted above the overflow chamber. The latter has its base slightly below the lower edge of an aperture 11 in the wall 7, its outer wall 13 apertured at 14 and connected to a tubular element 15 leading to the drain, and its inner wall open at the top 16 and provided with holes 17. The plate 18 has a handle 18A and is supported by bars 19 and lugs 20, 21 on the side walls of the gully. The top of the gully is surrounded by a distance piece 22 forming a seat for the cover and by an upstanding rim 24, whilst screw plugs are provided at 25, 26. The gully may be made of mild steel which may be galvanized or otherwise treated.
