A cover 10 for road drainage channel 12 having an upper surface 14 substantially flush with the road surface, has apertures 22 for the passage of water to the channel and ribs 24 or undulations providing audible or sensual warning to the driver of a vehicle crossing the cover. The ribs may be angled to deflect the vehicle back onto the road.
