Abstract

1444226 Gullies and gratings G MOLYNEUX (PRODUCTS) Ltd 27 July 1973 [30 Sept 1972] 45220/72 Headings E1C and E1G A gully includes a removable, downwardly dependent barrier 178 arranged to form a water seal with an upstanding barrier 142 surrounding an outlet in the bottom of the gully, the two barriers being asymmetrically arranged about a vertical plane containing the outlet's vertical axis whereby to define a principal water channel where the two barriers are most widely spaced (the left-hand side in Figure 1). The barrier 178 forms a cowl surrounding the upstanding barrier 142 and has an integral silt box 180 with a weir 182 and drain holes 183. The cowl's flanges 184 rest on flanges 156 of the gully. The inlet grating 186 is rectangular and rests on the flanges 184. It has a tongue 192 received under a flange 194 of a plate 196 fixed to the gully. The plate 196 has lines scribed thereon to assist in marking out holes for e.g. rainwater pipes.
