Abstract

<PICT:0629148/IV (a)/1> A base for supporting a model railway track is made of cellulose acetate in the form of a corrugated strip 1 of which the raised corrugations 3 constitute the sleepers and the sections therebetween 4 serve for spacing the sleepers, the hollows 5 beneath the sleeper portions being greater in height than the thickness of the material forming the sections between the sleeper portions. The sides 2 of the corrugations are substantially vertical. The base is made in straight lengths, the ends of the sleeper portions being left open in order to permit the side walls 2 to flex inwards at one end 6 and outwards at the other end 7 when the base is formed into a curve. Chairs and miniature ballast may be used with the base (see Group XV). Specification 614,228, [Group XV], is referred to.
