Abstract
An upright tubular member a for distributing liquid refrigerant in the evaporator q of an absorption refrigerating system is formed on either or both of its surfaces with a plurality of helically extending continuous grooves b inclined at an angle of approximately 4 1/2 degrees. Liquid is fed to the tubular member from two <PICT:0628660/III/1> <PICT:0628660/III/2> annular troughs d1, d2 connected by bores a1. The member a may be hollow, the space inside being fitted with a spiral member i forming a spiral passage for liquid to be cooled in the evaporator. The grooves b may be 8-start threads and an example of suitable dimensions is given.
