Abstract

An antibacterial dressing which is dry to the touch comprises a fibrous carrier having deposited on it gramicidin or tyrothricin in a non-volatile solvent. A preferred concentration is 7 micrograms of tyrothricin in 1.85 milligrams of propylene glycol per square centimetre of the carrier, which may be cotton fabric and may be backed by a resilient pad and a pressure sensitive adhesive strip. Among other suitable solvents are glycerol, sorbitol, ethylene glycol and monoethanolamine. Specification 468,529, [Group IX], is referred to.
