[Class 40 (iii)] [Also in Group XL (c)] Ultra-short waves propagated through a wave-guide B are modulated separately by the synchronizing signals and the image signals of a television transmission, the synchronizing signals being applied through a phase-shifter D to the control grid C of a klystron generator A feeding the guide, and the image signals being fed to the control element of a modulating valve C (e.g. a magnetron) which acts as a variable capacity and varies the transmission of the waves along the guide in the manner described in Specification 611,931, [Group XL (c)].
