[Class 125(ii)] [Also in Group XXII] An appliance for affixing a screw-cap x to a container y comprises an engaging head-piece a, a guide rod b on which slides within a tubular portion of a spindle c rotation of which is transmitted to the headpiece a by a clutch, comprising a keyed ring h and a flange c<SP>1</SP> frictionally coupled to a plate ring d by washers g, g<SP>1</SP>, adjustably maintained by a spring k. The plate ring d is connected to a disc a<SP>2</SP> integral with the headpiece a by pillars e surrounded by springs f. The under surface of the headpiece a may be recessed and provided with an insert of a soft substance such as rubber.
