625,444. Cases for cigarette packets. MACWILLIAM, W. H. Oct. 1, 1946, No. 29297. [Class 18] A case of variable capacity, for holding a packet of cigarettes, comprises front and back panels 1, 2 having inturned flanges 5, 6 with slots 9, 10 engaged by projections 14, 16, 18, 20 on two side members 3, 4 which are adapted to be moved towards or away from each other to vary the size of the case. The inner edges of the side members 3, 4 are inturned to form ribs 15, 19, the ends of which engage the inside edge of the flanges 5, 6 to assist in supporting the side members. The top edge of the outside wall of the side members may be inturned to form a lip 17, 21 to hold the packet inserted in the case. The case may be provided with a bottom.
