[Class 106 (i)] [Also in Group XX] In calculating the percentage moisture content of a material by comparing the specific gravities of the wet and dry material, a graduated index A, bearing specific gravity indicia is adapted to traverse a chart C graduated with corresponding specific gravity indicia D to those on the index A and also bearing concentrically arranged series of indicia E representing moisture content, the arrangement being such that when the index A indicates on scale D the specific gravity of the wet material, the graduation on the index A corresponding to the specific gravity of the dry material intersects the adjacent scale E at the graduation representing the percentage moisture content. In another embodiment, the scales D, E extend over complete concentric circles at the centre of which the index A is pivoted.
