Abstract

A cleaning and polishing composition for paintwork &c comprises a softening agent consisting of an emulsion in water of a solvent of the white spirit type incorporating saponified cresols and including an ammonia soap of a fatty acid as an emulsifying agent, a plasticizer consisting of a fatty oil or fatty acid, an abrasive, together with a mineral burning oil to prevent too rapid evaporation of the solvent. The plasticizer specified comprises linseed oil fatty acids. The abrasive may comprise a powder such as tripoli powder.
