Abstract

In a froth flotation process there is present as the flotation reagent a mixture or solution comprising 1-1-3 trialkoxy butane and a dixanthogen or xanthic anhydride. A reagent comprising ethyl-butyl-, isopropyl- or amyldixanthogen and 1-1-3 triethoxy butane, with or without a frothing agent such as pine oil, the xanthates or phosphocresylates, may be used to concentrate copper ores.
